EMOTIONS

In December 2017, I began developing this abstract series, EMOTIONS, prompted by the introduction of a new and transformative color in my palette: burnt umber.

The works explore the breadth of emotional experience -our shifting feelings, inner tensions, and moments of clarity. By working within a deliberately restrained range of tones -from deep black through bright white to the raw warmth of burnt umber- I aim to give form to states of mind we move through, cherish, resist, or are confronted by, whether within relationships or in solitude.

Although the paintings are entirely abstract and non-representational, the titles, compositions, and visual rhythms work together to evoke the emotional terrain they seek to express. This series has been, without question, the most demanding and consuming body of work I have undertaken.

I hope that encountering these pieces invites reflection, resonance, or recognition -whatever the viewer is open to discovering.
