My collection of MONKS paintings.

It began with a simple sketch, drawn over thirty years ago, rediscovered in 2015. From that moment, a quiet memory grew into a lifelong companion. The Monks took shape -first in paintings, then on pillowcases, bags, coffee cups, sculptures, and countless other forms. they continue to offer endless inspiration, and I know there will always be more of them to come.

The Monks in a Boat was born from a period of deep heartbreak -when I had to let go of my beloved sailboat. In creating them, I found a way to navigate loss; they became a vessel for reflection, comfort, and casting emotion into form, giving shape to something I could no longer hold.

Last night I had the strangest feelig.

This painting is originally without the monk and the orange ink on top, -but as an artist you sometimes realize that a work you thought were finished, wasn´t.. and you change it.

So, for this painting it is actually just "half of it" which has been exhibited at the Gallery Pingvin in Oslo.
