My landscape and nature paintings are shaped by places that have stayed with me long after I left them.
The mountains, the silence and the shifting light of the Norwegian landscape continue to find way into my work.

Nordic Stillness
There are places that become more than places.
Places where your mind quiets and your soul finally feels at home.
For many years I had such a place in the Norwegian mountains — a hand-crafted log cabin surrounded by open landscape, wind in the grass and the quiet rhythm of nature.
People often say, “It’s just a place.”
But some places are never just a place. They become part of you — in the light, the smell of the wood, the sound of birds and the vastness of the mountains around you.
For a long time I kept the love for that place, and the grief of losing it, in a quiet room inside myself — a place I did not dare to open.
Painting has carried me through heartbreak before.
Years ago I left another piece of my heart on the ocean when I had to say goodbye to a life at sea. The waves held memories I could not take with me.
And slowly, without planning it, the mountains began to appear on my canvas.
Today my paintings hold fragments of those landscapes — the silence, the shifting light and the sense of space that lives in the Norwegian mountains.
Some places stay with us long after we leave them.
Sometimes the only way I know how to hold on to them is to paint them.
